Amplifyng the right Equity Story
01. The Context
A large infrastructure business operating in sub-Saharan Africa was gearing up for institutional investor engagement, ahead of a potential listing. Despite a strong business case and a multi-decade track record of service delivery, the business operates in a complex macro environment and has a sophisticated value proposition that is difficult to explain.
02. The Strategic Need
During the pre-NBIO period, when time is limited, pressure is high and investor perception forms quickly, a weak or unclear equity story would directly threaten the anchor price. Shareholders needed a ‘story of the business’ that expressed its scale, defensibility and future opportunity with clarity and conviction. They also required an IM that visually, narratively and substantively reflected and defended a high-quality infrastructure asset.
03. The Delivery & Value
We worked closely with shareholders and the sell-side support team to develop the equity story and design a premium IM that reflected the quality of the asset. The business entered institutional conversations with a sharp, defensible and compelling investment case. The IM reinforced this story to a high standard, helping shape stronger investor perception and positioning the company to build conviction ahead of listing.
