A large financial institution transforms a core business unit

01. The Context

A major financial institution appointed a new Managing Director to revive and grow an established business unit facing competitive pressure and shifting market expectations. The unit held significant potential, but its strategy, purpose and value to the broader institution were not clearly or consistently understood. As the new leader began shaping a renewed direction, the business required a coherent story that could communicate the strategic shift to stakeholders and employees, build confidence and generate momentum behind the change.

02. The Strategic Need

For the business unit to secure support from internal stakeholders and mobilise its people, the strategy needed to be articulated as a compelling equity story. This needed to cover a clear explanation of why change was necessary, what the future could unlock and how the unit would create value going forward. The Managing Director needed a single, unifying point of truth that simplified complex strategic thinking, reduced misalignment and fostered advocacy. Beyond the narrative, leadership required a visual and verbal presentation capable of translating strategy into something employees could understand, believe in and rally behind.

03. The Delivery & Value

We partnered with the Managing Director and the executive team to consolidate the strategy into a clear, concise point of truth through a series of workshops and iterative feedback sessions. From this foundation, we crafted a narrative that humanised the strategy and framed change in a way that built understanding, reduced resistance and strengthened emotional buy-in across the business.

We then translated this narrative into a visually compelling presentation that combined simple, evocative messaging with strong visual storytelling, making the strategy accessible and engaging for all stakeholders.

The result was a cohesive equity story for the business unit: a narrative that clarified the strategy, strengthened leadership alignment and helped the organisation rally behind a shared vision for the future.
